AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIALS

Description: There are a variety of CD-ROMs, audio CDs, VCDs, DVDs, Cassettes, VHS and multimedia packages in this collection.
Location: Disks and VHS are available in Multimedia Collection, 2/F Zone B. Cassettes are available in 2/F Zone A Rm 2024.

GENERAL COLLECTION

Description: This collection houses the circulating publications. Books in various disciplines are kept on open stacks and arranged in the Library of Congress Classification number order.
Location: 2/F Zone A & C, 3/F Zone A & C, 4/F Zone A & C.The general collections are now categorized into six subject zones, and they are:
  • Zone A of the 2nd floor: Philosophy, Religion, Psychology, Education and Arts (B, L-N)
  • Zone C of the 2nd floor: Language and Literature (P-PZ)
  • Zone A of the 3rd floor: Science and Medical Science (Q-V)
  • Zone C of the 3rd floor: History and Geography (C-G)
  • Zone A of the 4th floor: Business Management (H-HG)
  • Zone C of the 4th floor: Law and Public Administration (HJ-HX, J-K)

MACAU COLLECTION

Description: The Macau Collection is constantly being developed with the aim of providing relevant materials in a variety of formats useful for researchers and scholars who are interested in studying Macau. The collection consists of:
  • Books from or related to Macau
  • Periodicals published in Macau
  • Special issues from Macau organizations, commercial firms and schools
  • Exhibition catalogs and activity/conference programs of Macau
  • Pamphlets and leaflets issued in Macau

NEWSPAPERS

Description: A collection of newspapers of current and back issues covering those from Chinese Mainland, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Portugal, the United States, etc.

PERIODICALS

Description: The Library subscribes to a variety of printed academic journals and some general interest periodicals.

RARE BOOK COLLECTION

Description: This valuable collection includes early editions of western books, classical Chinese books, and books with author’s signature. List of collection can be viewed on Rare Book Collection.
Location: 1/F Zone B Rm.1024-b
Note: Non-circulation and not allowed to make photocopy. List of classical books, rare books, books donated by Mr. Chan Wai Heng can be viewed in on UM Rare Book Collection. An online image catalog of the Rare Book Collection is also available.
