A variety of reading seats are available to match your study mood — whether you need quiet focus, natural light, or space to spread out. Many seats are equipped with power sockets for your devices. There are a total of 1420+ seats in the Library, including the following:

  • Study Desks 460+

    To spread out textbooks, use laptops, and work comfortably for long sessions.

    Many desks are equipped with power sockets — ideal for essay writing or research.

  • Bar-Style Seats 210+

    To study in a bright, open setting — perfect for quick reviews or collaborative note-taking.

    High-top tables & stools in Sky Garden, under a glass roof — bright & energizing for study.

  • Study Carrels 150+

    To study without distractions — perfect for exams, writing, or online classes.

    Semi-private cubicles with high partitions — your personal quiet zone on busy days.

  • Computer-Equipped Seats 90+

    To access software, databases, or printing.

    Most are located in the Information Commons on the Library G/F, which offers a one-stop environment for accessing e-resources, completing assignments, and engaging in both collaborative and individual study.

  • Smart View Monitor-Equipped Seats 120+

    To connect personal laptops, extend desktop displays, and charge devices simultaneously — ideal for coding, design, or multi-source research.

  • Casual Seats 370+

    Comfortable, informal seating like sofas and tea seats for you to enjoy a good book, flip through journals, or simply recharge your mind.

  • E6 Learning Commons & 24-hr Study Hall

    Located on the Ground Floor of E6 Building. Open 24/7 — a flexible, tech-friendly space for late-night study, group work, or solo focus — no curfew, no stress.

    Quiet zones and collaborative areas available — perfect for solo work or group study.

  • S8 Learning Commons & Recreation Area

    Located on the 2nd Floor of the University Mall (S8). A well-established, student-friendly space blending study and relaxation — with books & journals provided by the Library, natural light, and modern décor. Comfortable seating, quiet zones, and social corners — open daily 6am–11pm.
