UM Archive Management Core Workgroup Delegation Attended the First Greater Bay Area Archives Management Symposium (2025-12-01)
The first Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Archives Management Symposium 2025 was successfully held in Zhuhai on 27–28 November. Organised under the theme “Empowering Archival Innovation through Digital Intelligence”, the event was guided by the Department of Science, Technology and Informatization of the National Archives Administration of China, co-hosted by the Key Laboratory of Data Archiving and Archives Security of National Archives Administration of China and the Society of Guangdong Archives, and assisted by the Archives of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The programme covered cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, resource sharing and bureau-archive collaboration, attracting nearly 200 specialists and scholars. Panel 1 examined “Bureau-Archive Collaboration and Innovative Practice in Archival Work”; Panel 2 addressed “The Deep Integration of Digital-Intelligence Technology and Archives Management”; Panel 3 explored “Greater Bay Area Archival Cooperation and Resource Sharing”; and Panel 4 focused on “Technology Empowerment and Innovation-Led, High-Quality Development of the Archival Undertaking.” After the conference, all delegates visited the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone Planning Exhibition Hall in Hengqin to see first-hand how archival services are supporting integrated development across the Greater Bay Area.
Prof. Hong XU, Chair of the University of Macau Archive Management Core Workgroup, along with Mr. Hoi Wai Tat, Deputy Leader, and members Ms. Song Sok Fong and Ms. Chong Sok I, attended the conference.
