Completion of " Multimedia Certificate Course": A Success Story (2025-12-01)
Today, the certificate awarding ceremony for the "Multimedia Certificate Course", co-hosted by the University of Macau Library and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College, was successfully held. Professor Stanley Hui, College Master of Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College, Dr. Vivian Jiang, Associate Master, resident fellow and librarians of UM Library, the course instructor team, and 10 students who successfully completed the course attended the ceremony to witness this important occasion.
As an important part of the UM Library's series of workshops, the "Multimedia Certificate Course" aims to help students master practical multimedia skills through systematic teaching and promote their all-round development. Launched on September 17th, the course held four teaching sessions on October 22nd, November 5th and November 12th respectively. Each session lasted 1.5 hours, providing students with a total of 6 hours of systematic learning. The course covered four core modules: "Creating Simple Posters", "Introduction to Video Editing", "Creating Dynamic Covers and Advertising Videos", and "Introduction to AR Tools". The content was closely aligned with the needs of academic research and campus life, combining practicality and pertinence.
At the ceremony, Professor Helen Xu, the University Librarian delivered a speech and thanked College Master Professor Stanley Hui and Associate Master Dr. Vivian Jiang for their presence and guidance, congratulated the 10 students who successfully completed the course, and highly recognized the hard work of the instructor team. Professor Helen Xu stated that UM Library has always attached great importance to collaborative education with various colleges. This course is another successful practice of inter-departmental cooperation between the two parties. In the future, it will continue to deepen cooperation with various colleges, explore more diverse teaching models, and provide students with richer skill learning resources.

To recognize the selfless dedication of the instructor team, certificates of appreciation were also presented to three instructors at the ceremony, including student helper Chen Hoi Lam, Lin Yilan and Wen Xueying from the Library, in recognition of their dedicated efforts in course preparation and teaching implementation.

Professor Stanley Hui spoke highly of the successful holding of the course in his concluding speech. He said that multimedia skills have become one of the core competencies necessary for contemporary college students. The course has built a high-quality learning platform for students, which fully reflects UM's student-oriented educational philosophy. He hoped that students could apply the skills they have learned to their future study and life, and looked forward to more in-depth cooperation projects with the Library. At the end of the ceremony, Professor Helen Xu presented completion certificates to the 10 graduates one by one and took a group photo.
