Delegation from China National Edition Library Guangzhou Branch Visits UM Library (2025-11-24)
On 21 November 2025 (Friday), a four-member delegation from the China National Edition Library Guangzhou Branch (commonly referred to as “Guangzhou National Edition Library”), led by Ye Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, visited the University of Macau Library. The delegation members also included Huang Zhen, Head of the Research and Exchange Department; Zeng Ganli, Head of the Digital Resources Department, and Dong Lei, the Technical Specialist from the Preservation Department.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Prof. Helen Hong Xu, the University Librarian of University of Macau Library; Dr. Raymond Wong, Mr. Billy Leung, the Associate University Librarian; the Assistant University Librarian and functional heads Ms. Priscilla Pun, Mr. Stephen Lei and Mr. Henry Yang. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as edition preservation and promotion, digitization initiatives, academic resource sharing, and collaborative exchanges. They also expressed a strong interest in cooperation in areas including rare book conservation, incunabula collection, and digital projects.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the UM Library, the Rare Book Room, the UM Art Museum, and the University Gallery, gaining a deeper understanding of UM’s efforts in cultural heritage preservation and resource management. This visit laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between the two institutions in resource sharing, technical expertise, and cultural exchange.
