Representatives from the University of Macau Library visits Jiangxi Provincial Library (2025-09-17)

On September 8th, a delegation of five from the University of Macau Library, led by Associate University Librarian Raymond Wong, visited the Jiangxi Provincial Library for a research trip. They received a warm welcome from Jiangxi Provincial Library Director Gao Lan, Associate Director Liu Weiwei, and other staff, who introduced the library’s recent key initiatives, including the establishment of a National-Level Ancient Classics Restoration Skills Transmission Center and innovative reading promotion activities.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the collection, preservation, and revitalization of ancient classics and local literature. They expressed a desire to further strengthen interlibrary exchange and cooperation, contributing positively to the high-quality development of libraries and the mutual appreciation of public culture.

Representatives from the University of Macau Library also included Assistant University Librarian Billy Leung, and Functional Head Priscilla Pun, Stephen Lei and Wilson Hoi.

The Jiangxi Provincial Library is currently the largest, with the most extensive collection, and the most complete system of any comprehensive public library in the province. It covers an area of 96,000 square meters, holds 3.75 million volumes, provides over 6,000 reading seats, and can accommodate 20,000 readers daily.
