From July 2 to 28, 2025, two interns from Wuhan University undertook a four-week internship at the University of Macau Library. The internship covered a wide range of areas, including library operations training, book cataloging, ancient book organization, institutional knowledge repository development, and the digital processing and visual presentation of library collections. The program aimed to promote academic exchange and the cultivation of young talent between the two universities.

Wuhan University and the University of Macau have maintained long-term academic exchange and cooperation. This internship is a key initiative to deepen their partnership. The University of Macau Library, which holds a rich collection of ancient books and special materials, has actively promoted digitization efforts in recent years. Under the guidance of Dr. Raymond Wong, Associate University Librarian, the interns received systematic training in book classification and cataloging, participated in the organization of rare ancient books, assisted in optimizing data within the institutional knowledge repository, and contributed to the development and enhancement of the academic resource navigation system.

During the internship, Prof. Hong Xu, University Librarian of the University of Macau Library, met with the interns. In the conversation, she expressed her support for the internship program and her intention to further expand collaboration with faculty and students from Schools of Information Management at mainland universities, promoting more cross-border exchange initiatives in the future.
