The exhibition showcases the calligraphy works of Macao calligrapher Ao Io Nam, offering students, staff, and members of the public an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of traditional Chinese calligraphy at close range. The exhibition features 27 calligraphy works in a variety of script styles, including Cursive Script, Running Script, Small Seal Script, Clerical Script, and Bronze Script, demonstrating the expressive spirit and artistic charm of Chinese calligraphy through diverse forms. A highlight of the exhibition is the acclaimed Ode to Luoshen, presented as a nine-scroll hanging scroll series, whose elegant brushstrokes make it one of the exhibition’s most remarkable attractions. The exhibition also includes couplet scrolls and prose excerpts, showcasing a rich diversity of calligraphic formats.

Born in Zhongshan and now living in Macao, Ao Io Nam studied calligraphy under the Guangzhou calligrapher Lin Shaoming, focusing on Clerical, Regular, Seal, and Cursive scripts. He is currently the Executive Director of the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, a member of the China Calligraphers Association, President of the Macao Calligraphy Academy, and a member of both the Macao Artist Society and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao. His works have been featured in numerous joint calligraphy exhibitions in China and abroad, and his artistic achievements have earned widespread recognition in the calligraphy field.

Through interpretations in a variety of script styles, the exhibition showcases the profound cultural heritage and artistic value of Chinese calligraphy. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge. Visitors are warmly invited to explore the exhibition during the Library’s opening hours and appreciate the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture and calligraphy.
