UM Library’s “Window of Shenzhen” Welcomes a New Batch of Shenzhen Themed Publications (2026-04-14)
In March 2026, a new batch of Shenzhen‑themed publications was added to the “Window of Shenzhen” collection at the University of Macau Library. The total of 36 titles in 39 volumes was donated by Shenzhen Library, with a view to further enhancing the collection and promoting ongoing cultural exchange and cooperation between Shenzhen and Macao.
The “Window of Shenzhen” collection was first established in 2023 with over 200 publications showcasing the city’s unique characteristics. Since then, it has served as an important academic and cultural platform for presenting the city's development and the spirit of the times. The newly added publications cover key areas, including high-quality development, technological innovation, urban governance, social development, culture, literature and the arts. They offer readers a multidimensional understanding of Shenzhen as a pioneering city of reform and opening up.
To celebrate the arrival of the new publications, the UM Library is hosting a thematic exhibition on the ground floor, featuring selected titles from the latest additions and highlighting the ongoing development of the “Window of Shenzhen” initiative.
During the event, a delegation from Shenzhen Library led by Wang Bing, Chairman of the Shenzhen Society of Library and Information Science and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Library visited UM. The delegation was warmly received by University Librarian Prof. Helen (Hong) XU, Assistant University Librarian Billy Leung, functional heads Priscilla Pun, Stephen Lei, Wilson Hoi and Henry Yang. The two parties discussed ways to strengthen their collaboration in collection development and cultural exchange, with the aim of contributing to the development of the Greater Bay Area as a region oriented towards the humanities.
Other members of the visiting delegation included Cai Hui, Director of the Systems and Network Department of Shenzhen Library; and Hong Guangdong, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Society of Library and Information Science and Deputy Director of the Office and Department of Development Affairs of Shenzhen Library.
