University of Macau

Founded in 1981, UM is the only public comprehensive university in Macao, with a high degree of internationalisation. Its multilingual and multicultural campus gives it a unique advantage. The university adopts a modern governance system in line with international practices. English is the main medium of instruction. Faculty members are recruited internationally, with 80 per cent of them from outside Macao.

Adopting a holistic approach to education, UM has Asia’s largest residential college system, which provides a multicultural and intellectually stimulating environment for students.
