Calligraphy by Jao Tsung-I for University of Macau
This calligraphy “University of Macau” in Chinese was written by Jao Tsung-I, a renowned master of sinology in contemporary China. Prof Jao served as a chair professor in the School of Arts at the University of East Asia (UEA), the predecessor of UM, also as the founding professor in Department of Chinese Literary History. For many years, Prof Jao closely followed the academic and research developments of our university. In the calligraphy, he expressed his hope in UM.

Inscription of establishment of University of East Asia
UEA, predecessor of UM, was founded in 1981, and in 1986, the three co-founders, Dr. Wong King Keung, Dr. Edward Woo Pak Hay, and Dr. Peter Eng Yuk Lun, erected a memorial in commemoration of the founding of the university. The words on the inscription describing the purpose and process of the creation of UEA, were written by Prof. Jao Tsung-I, master of traditional Chinese culture.

Staff Payroll Envelope
This payroll envelope shows the staff payroll situation of the University of East Asia (predecessor of University of Macau) during 1988. At that time, the bursar’s office paid the employees through envelopes. After receiving the payroll envelope containing that month's salary, the staff member signed next to the corresponding month on the envelope to confirm that they received the salary of the month. After signing, the envelope was returned to the mentioned office for next month’s payment.

Inauguration Minutes of Rector
This Book of Minutes records Prof. Mario Nascimento Ferreira and Prof. Zhou Li-gao were appointed as Rector and Vice Rector of the University of Macau (UM) on 29 October 1994, Prof. Zhou-Li-gao and Prof. Rui Martins were appointed as Rector and Vice Rector of the UM on 10 September 1997, Prof. Iu Vai Pan was appointed as Rector of the UM on 10 September 1999, in the witness of the then Governor of Macau and Chancellor of the UM, General Vasco Joaquim Rocha Vieira.

First-day cover of University of Macau's 25th anniversary
This first-day cover was issued to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the University of Macau (UM). On the cover, there are five stamps representing the motto of the UM: “Ren, Humanity”, “Yi, Integrity”, “Li, Propriety”, “Zhi, Wisdom” and “Xin, Sincerity”. It also includes two chops of “25th Anniversary of the University of Macau, 1981-2006” in both Chinese and Portuguese language.

Conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa on the U.S. 41th President Mr. George Herbert Walker Bush
The University of Macau (UM) conferred the title of Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa upon the 41st President of the United States, Mr. George Herbert Walker Bush, at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in the US, on 21 April 2009 at 1:30 p.m., in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Sino-American relations.

Inscription written by former Chinese President Hu for University of Macau: love China, love Macau, learn extensively, and practise earnestly
Former president of PRC Hu Jintao, officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus on 20 December 2009. He expressed his high expectations for the university to become a world-class university with world-class facilities, a world-class faculty team, world-class students, and world-class achievements. President Hu gifted this inscription: “Love China, love Macau, learn extensively, and practise earnestly,” and expected UM to seize the opportunity brought by the new campus to work hard to develop itself into a world-class university and produce graduates with high ideals, a global mindset, and the ability to make contributions to Macao and China.

Conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Letters honoris causa on Doctor Louis Cha Liang Yong
On July 13 2011, the University of Macau conferred Dr. Louis Cha Liang Yong, the outstanding writer, a Degree of Doctor of Letters honoris causa, in honor of his remarkable achievements in the field of culture and his exceptional contribution to society

Commemorative Stamps for celebration of the inauguration of University of Macau new campus
In November 2013, to celebrate the University of Macau inaugurate its new campus on Hengqin Island, and to remember this historical moment, the University designed a series of commemorative stamps that have the pattern of representative buildings in the campus.
